Foundation and Underground Work

If a house you have purchased needs foundation work immediately, call the contractor who will do this work. Foundation work is just that, foundational. It needs to be done before many other aspects can be started. For example, windows and doors can not be replaced until there is some assurance that the floors will not move. Same for windows and cabinets. Needless to say, drywall and plaster can not be done until there is no likelihood that they will crack due to settling after the foundation work is complete.

Other underground work should be started right away. For example, if a new water line or sewer line or underground electric service is planned, then this needs to be started as soon as possible. Weather can get in the way of all exterior work on a house. So by completing this as soon as possible, there is less likelihood of a delay in finishing the project on time.
